Why did you change your name?
For 35 years we have been the Pregnancy Help Center of West Houston. As we look to the future, we recognize the need to adapt to remainrelevant and impactful. The culture and landscape around us haveevolved, and so must we, to effectively meet the needs of women today.
With our new name, Adira Clinic, we’re focused on empowering women to choose life, especially by connecting with those who may be most concerned about the immediate, physical challenges of an unexpected pregnancy. We’ve found that our current name can sometimes discourage women from seeking our services, and we want to remove that barrier.
Understanding that many women considering abortion see it as a healthcare decision, we are embracing our medical expertise and clinical approach to provide compassionate, professional care and comprehensive support. Through this transition, we will continue to offer all our services free of charge, ensuring that every woman feels welcomed, supported, and empowered to make life-affirming choices.
Our name has changed but our dedication to the pro-life movement, to saving lives, and helping women is stronger than ever.
How did you choose the name Adira Clinic?
The life-saving pregnancy movement dates back to the Hebrew midwives in the book of Exodus. Brave women defied the Pharoah’s orders to kill Hebrew boys at birth. Instead, the women demonstrated a powerful example of what it means to protect the most vulnerable. Their strength and determination areour example.
We also drew inspiration from the messages we consistently share with our clients: “You are stronger than you know,” “You are strong enough to adapt to unexpected circumstances,” and “It takes a strong person to put someone else ahead of herself.”We discovered a Hebrew name that translates to the word strong: ADIRA.
We also knew we wanted to use the word CLINIC to emphasize the medical services we provide for women as they decide about their pregnancy.
Are you still a Christian, pro-life, non-profit organization?
Yes, yes, and yes! We continue to uphold our Statement of Faith and Statement of Principle, rooted in a relationship with Jesus Christ and a 100% pro-life commitment. Our beliefs, philosophy, and values remain unchanged.
Will people confuse you with a “real” clinic?
Since obtaining an ultrasound machine early in our ministry, we have operated as an official medical facility. We carry medical insurance, have two medical directors, employ licensed medical professionals, and adhere to all regulations under our Clinical Laboratories Improvement Amendments (CLIA) certificate. This certification, issued by the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, underscores our commitment to meeting rigorous healthcare standards.
Over the years, our medical services have expanded to support pregnant women in making informed, thoughtful decisions about their pregnancies. Our website, staff, medical team, and volunteers are transparent about the services we do and do not offer.
Many Pregnancy Help Centers have adopted the term “Clinic” in their names to better reflect their expanded medical services for women. We are proud to join this effort, paving a path to be even more relevant, responsive, relational, and accessible to those considering all pregnancy options. Through medical consultations and options counseling, we remain dedicated to empowering women to choose life.
Are you still affiliated with the national pregnancy organizations?
Yes. We are still affiliated with Heartbeat International, NIFLA (National Institute of Family and Life Advocates), Mission PreBorn, and Life Ambassadors of Texas.
My check was made out to the Pregnancy Help Center (PHC). Can you still accept my donation?
Yes.Our 501(c)(3) designation continues to be Pregnancy Help Center, for which we have received a legal DBA of Adira Clinic. This means we can accept checks, matching gifts, and other payments made to Adira Clinic, PHC, or the Pregnancy Help Center for the foreseeable future.
Will my recurring donations to the PHC/Pregnancy Help Center still be processed as usual?
Yes. In fact, on your bank and credit card receipts, your donations may still show up as processing to Pregnancy Help Center, Inc., as that is our legal name. There is no action required on your part to continue your monthly recurring gifts (which we deeply appreciate!).
Will my donations to Adira Clinic still be tax-deductible?
Absolutely! The only thing changing is our name. Our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status will remain the same along with our TAX ID and EIN: TAX ID # 30113333642 | EIN # 76-0276015.
What is your new website?
